PERFORMANCE MARKETING & PPC AGENCY FOR MUMBAI BRANDS

MUMBAI’S AUCTION IS CROWDED. Pay for buyers, not reach.

I’m Akshit. My team runs Google, Meta, YouTube and WhatsApp ads for Mumbai brands, from D2C labels to finance and property, judged on what your store or CRM says. We’re based in Gurgaon and work with you by appointment, mostly on video.

YOU’RE BIDDING AGAINST funded brands.

In Mumbai, the advertiser chasing the same buyer as you is often a funded D2C label, a national bank or a studio pushing a release. Your cost per click reflects who else wants that person, and in this city it’s a long list. That’s not a reason to stop. It’s a reason to stop wasting.

Over the past decade I’ve watched the same mistake again and again. A brand grows on cheap Meta reach, costs rise, and the answer is always more budget or a new agency. Almost nobody fixes what the platforms are learning from: broken tracking, cash on delivery returns counted as sales, lead forms that reward junk.

So we start there. One number agreed up front, measured from your own data. Accounts in your name, spend on your card. Tracking fixed before any new spend. Then weekly decisions, explained in plain language.

The best result I can point to took patience. An ecommerce brand we’ve worked with for two and a half years now sees Meta returns around 36x the industry norm. Not from month one. Years of SEO built a warm audience the platforms could find again and again.

A word on location. We’re in Gurgaon, at WeWork Forum in DLF Cyber City, with no Mumbai office. We work with Mumbai brands by appointment, mostly on video. Request an appointment and we’ll open your ad account together on screen.

THE MUMBAI AD MARKET, as I see it.

MUMBAI, INDIA

Mumbai brands compete in some of India’s most crowded and most regulated categories. These are the realities I plan around.

01

Digital is where the money went

India’s digital ad revenue grew 26% in 2025 to ₹947 billion, 63% of all ad revenue, and ecommerce and point-of-sale ads grew 50%. More brands are bidding for the same feeds and search results, so weak creative or a broken tag costs more than it used to.

02

Funded D2C competition

Mumbai logged 362+ D2C funding deals between 2015 and early 2026, second only to Delhi NCR, and its D2C funding grew fastest of any hub. If you sell to consumers, you share Meta and Google auctions with brands that raised money to spend.

03

Finance ads need verification first

Google requires financial services verification in India, listing RBI, SEBI, IRDAI and others, enforced since January 2023. Meta has enforced verification for securities and investment ads since July 2025, with the SEBI number shown where it applies. Sort both before launch.

04

Property ads carry the MahaRERA QR code

MahaRERA has required a prominent QR code in ads for registered projects since August 2023, with penalties of ₹10K to ₹50K per violation. In one enforcement round, 312 of the 628 projects fined over missing QR codes and registration numbers were in the Mumbai region.

WHAT WE DO FOR Mumbai brands.

THE FULL PAID MEDIA PRACTICE →
  1. 01

One agreed number before any spend

Return on spend after COD returns, cost per qualified lead, or blended revenue against spend. Chosen with you, measured from your store or CRM, reported every week.

  2. 02

    Tracking the platforms can trust

Pixel, Conversions API, offline conversions and consent, so Meta and Google learn which clicks became paying customers, not which became returns.

  3. 03

    Creative made for testing

Short video, creator-style and static ads built to test, with a fresh batch on a schedule. In crowded Mumbai auctions, creative is usually the cheapest lever left.

  4. 04

    Compliance before launch

Financial services verification, SEBI details on investment ads, MahaRERA numbers and QR codes on property ads, and consent built into every form.

  5. 05

    Search, social and video together

Google Search, Performance Max, Meta, YouTube, and LinkedIn for B2B and BFSI, with budget moved weekly to where buyers are deciding.

  6. 06

    Accounts you own

Your Business Manager, your Google account, your card. Full admin access, and nothing leaves with us.

Two consumer brands we work with. Soni Cosmetics grew monthly sales 7x once we fixed the ads and the store together. Juhi Nanda couldn’t hold 1x ROAS in slow months, and after we rebuilt the tracking and funnel underneath, its peak months now run at 6x.

WHAT MUMBAI FOUNDERS ask me.

REAL QUESTIONS, ANSWERED PROPERLY

Which is the best performance marketing agency in Mumbai for D2C brands?

The one that measures you on revenue after returns, not platform ROAS, and can show you how it decides where next week’s budget goes. A logo wall of D2C brands proves less than that.

Google suggests “d2c performance marketing agency in india” and “social media marketing agency in mumbai for d2c” as you type, and the results are full of agencies with confident numbers. The worry behind the question is fair. Plenty of D2C founders have paid for a year of reports that looked great inside Ads Manager while the bank account told another story.

Ask four things on the first call. How will you measure ROAS once cash on delivery returns and discounts come out? Who makes the creative, and how many new ads will we test each month? What happens to the pixel, the audiences and the ad accounts if we part ways? And what would you cut first in my account today?

Good answers sound specific and a little cautious. They talk about tracking, creative volume, offers and margins. Weak answers talk about guaranteed ROAS.

If you’re spending a small amount on one platform, a strong freelancer may serve you better for now. I’ll tell you if that’s where you are.

My rule: hire the agency that asks about your margins before it asks about your budget.

How much should I spend daily on Meta ads for my D2C brand?

Enough to give each ad set roughly 50 optimisation events a week, at a cost per purchase your margin can carry. Work backwards from that, not from a round number.

Here’s the maths. Meta’s guidance is that an ad set needs about 50 optimisation events in a week to leave the learning phase. If your real cost per purchase is ₹800, one ad set needs around ₹40K a week to learn properly. If that’s more than you can spend, run fewer ad sets, or optimise for an earlier event like add to cart while you build volume.

Then check the number you’re dividing by. A founder asking this exact question on an Indian business forum described a ROAS of 1.6 to 2 with about a quarter of cash on delivery orders coming back. Once those returns come out, an account like that can lose money on every sale. So count orders that were delivered and paid for, and send those outcomes back to Meta through the Conversions API where you can.

In Mumbai’s consumer categories you’re bidding against funded brands, so a thin budget spread across many audiences gets nowhere. Concentrate it.

My rule: set the daily budget from your learning threshold and your real, after-returns cost per order, then scale only what holds.

Do I need SEBI registration to run Meta ads for financial products?

For securities and investment ads aimed at people in India, Meta asks you to verify who benefits from and pays for the ad. If you’re SEBI-registered, you verify with your registration number. If you’re exempt, there’s an alternate identity check, and the ad carries a “not registered” disclaimer.

Meta began enforcing this on 31 July 2025. The ad then shows the beneficiary, the payer and the SEBI number where it applies, in Ad Info and in Meta’s Ad Library. Google runs its own financial services verification in India, listing regulators including RBI, SEBI and IRDAI, so a broker, lender or insurer has work to do on both platforms.

The failure I see is launching first and verifying later. Campaigns stall in review, the launch date slips, and somebody rewrites the creative in a hurry, which is exactly how risky claims slip in.

So do it in this order. Verify on Google and Meta before any creative is final. Get your compliance team to agree a set of approved claims and disclaimers. Build the creative inside those lines, and keep a record of every approval.

I’m not a lawyer, and SEBI’s own advertising rules come first. Your compliance team should sign off every ad.

My rule: verification and approvals first, creative second, budget last.

What are MahaRERA’s QR code rules for property ads?

Every advertisement for a MahaRERA-registered project needs to show the project’s QR code prominently, alongside the registration number and the MahaRERA website that the RERA Act already requires. The QR code rule has applied since 1 August 2023.

It isn’t a formality. Under the order, a violation draws a penalty of ₹10K to ₹50K, and one left uncorrected for ten days is treated as continuing. MahaRERA does enforce it: a 2024 report counted 628 projects fined for missing QR codes and registration numbers, 312 of them in the Mumbai region.

For digital ads this creates practical problems. A QR code on a fast Reel or a small display ad is hard to read, and automatically generated creative can crop it out. So plan the format. Put the registration number and QR code where they can be read on every static ad and video frame that carries the offer, on the landing page above the form, and in the lead form’s intro text. Keep the claims factual too: location, configuration, price band and possession timeline.

Rules change, so check the current orders on the MahaRERA site with your legal team before a big launch.

My rule: if a buyer can’t scan your QR code from the ad, assume the regulator can’t either.

Should we run ads in Marathi or Hindi in Mumbai?

Test it, because the answer depends on your category and your buyer, not on the city. For many Mumbai brands English works for the core audience, while Hindi or Marathi creative can reach a wider one at a different cost.

The city’s language mix is real. In the 2011 census, Marathi was Mumbai’s largest mother tongue at about 4.4M speakers, and Hindi speakers grew from about 2.6M to 3.6M over the decade. Add Gujarati and Urdu, and an English-only plan leaves a lot of people seeing ads written for someone else.

Here’s how I’d test it. Keep the offer, landing page and audience the same, and change only the language of the creative. Use native writers, not machine translation, because people notice straight away. Make sure the landing page matches the ad’s language, or the click is wasted. Run long enough to judge on cost per purchase or qualified lead, not on click-through rate.

The mistake I see is treating language as a targeting checkbox. Language is creative. A Marathi ad that reads like a translated English one will lose to a good English ad nearly every time.

My rule: change one thing, judge on real outcomes, and keep whichever version wins.

Can a Gurgaon agency run ads for a Mumbai brand?

Yes. Ad accounts don’t have an address, and the work happens inside Google, Meta and your own sales data. What matters is whether the agency understands your Mumbai buyer and whether you can see its decisions every week.

I’ll be straight about us. We’re in Gurgaon, at WeWork Forum in DLF Cyber City, and we have no Mumbai office. We work with Mumbai brands by appointment, mostly on video. In my experience, a weekly call with your ad account on screen does more than a monthly visit with slides.

Here’s what a remote agency should do to earn your trust. Learn your geography properly, because South Mumbai, the western suburbs, Thane and Navi Mumbai can need different offers, delivery promises and even languages. Work from your store and CRM data, not assumptions about the city. And give you access to everything, so distance never hides anything.

The real risk has nothing to do with distance. It’s an agency that keeps your accounts in its own name or can’t explain last week’s budget moves, wherever it happens to sit.

My rule: judge any agency on what you can see and verify, not on how far away it is.

What works for B2B lead generation in Mumbai?

Google Search for people already looking, LinkedIn for reaching the right roles at the right companies, and a sales team that tells both platforms which leads became meetings. Cheap form fills are the enemy.

Google suggests “digital marketing agency for b2b in mumbai” and “lead generation company mumbai” as you type, and the worry behind both is lead quality. B2B buyers are few, busy and expensive to reach. A campaign that looks efficient on cost per lead can still produce nobody your sales team wants to call.

Here’s what I’d set up. Search campaigns on high-intent terms, with tight negative keywords so students and job seekers don’t eat the budget. Look at Google’s own suggestions for Mumbai agencies and you’ll see “jobs” and “for freshers” everywhere, which is exactly the traffic you don’t want to pay for. LinkedIn campaigns targeted by company, function and seniority, with a lead form that asks one qualifying question. And CRM feedback, so both platforms learn from meetings booked and deals opened, not raw leads.

Expect a slower cycle. B2B deals take weeks or months, so judge campaigns on pipeline, not on the current month’s revenue.

My rule: count the meetings your sales team accepts. Everything else is a vanity number.

Is YouTube or OTT advertising worth it for a Mumbai brand?

Yes, if you have a story worth watching and a way to measure what happens after the view. Video builds the demand that search and Meta then harvest, but it rarely closes the sale on its own.

Mumbai brands know video better than most. In the FICCI-EY press release, Maharashtra’s cultural affairs minister calls the city India’s creative capital, and the same report puts digital ad revenue at ₹947 billion in 2025, 63% of India’s total. Google suggests “ott ads cost” as you type, so plenty of marketers are pricing it.

The trap is judging video like a search campaign. A YouTube or connected TV view rarely clicks through, so last-click reports make it look useless and the budget gets cut. Then branded searches and direct visits quietly fall a few weeks later.

Here’s how I’d run it. Start with YouTube, where targeting and measurement are mature. Earn attention in the first five seconds, before the skip button. Use brand lift studies, or run in some cities and hold others back, to see whether branded search and sales move. Retarget viewers on Meta and Search. Our video retargeting funnel for Republic of Zoofari converted 18% better than cold audiences.

My rule: buy video for the demand it creates, and judge it by what happens to search and sales afterwards.
