PERFORMANCE MARKETING & PPC AGENCY FOR CHENNAI BRANDS

YOUR NEXT BUYER IS IN DHAKA. Or Detroit. Or Dallas.

I’m Akshit. My team runs Google, Meta, LinkedIn and WhatsApp ads for Chennai brands that sell well beyond Chennai, judged on qualified enquiries and revenue from your own CRM. The accounts are yours, the spend is on your card, and nobody guarantees an auction.

CHENNAI DOESN’T NEED more clicks.

Most paid media advice in India is written for brands selling to the next city. Chennai is different. A hospital here advertises to families in Bangladesh and Iraq. A SaaS company bids in the same auctions as Silicon Valley. A component maker wants twenty calls from the right engineers, not two thousand form fills. Copying a Delhi D2C playbook onto any of those wastes money fast.

Over the past decade I’ve seen the same pattern in accounts again and again. The tracking counts the wrong thing, so the platform optimises for cheap leads. Nobody tells Google or Meta which enquiries became patients, demos or orders. And the report celebrates a cost per lead the sales team doesn’t recognise.

So we start with the number that matters to you. Cost per qualified enquiry, cost per booked consultation, pipeline from demos, or return on spend measured from your own sales. We build the accounts in your name, fix the tracking, and send real outcomes back to the platforms so they learn what a good customer looks like.

It works when you give it time. An ecommerce brand we work with now runs Performance Max at 27x the industry norm. That wasn’t month one. Years of SEO built a warm audience the platforms could find again and again.

We’re based in Gurgaon, at WeWork Forum in DLF Cyber City, with no Chennai office. We work with Chennai brands by appointment, mostly on video. Request an appointment and we’ll open your ad account together on a shared screen.

THE CHENNAI AD MARKET, as I see it.

CHENNAI, INDIA

Chennai’s biggest advertisers sell to patients abroad, software buyers overseas and industrial buyers who never fill in a form. These are the realities I plan around.

01

Hospital campaigns run across borders

Tamil Nadu treats about 25% of India’s international patients, and at one Chennai hospital Bangladesh, Iraq and the Maldives make up almost 80% of that volume. Your campaigns need country-level targeting, ads in the patient’s language and someone answering WhatsApp in their time zone.

02

Health ads have hard limits

Advertisers targeting India may not promote prescription drugs in ads or on landing pages, and India’s Drugs and Magic Remedies Act restricts advertising remedies for listed conditions such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease. Write hospital ads around services, doctors and evidence, never cures.

03

SaaS bids in foreign auctions

Chennai has produced at least five SaaS unicorns, and the bulk of revenue for companies like Freshworks, Chargebee and Zoho comes from North America and Europe. That means paying US and European click prices, so every demo has to be traced to pipeline in your CRM, not counted as a win on arrival.

04

Tamil creative and the Pongal calendar

57% of urban internet users in India prefer content in regional languages, and Tamil is among the most popular. Pongal falls on Friday 15 January 2027, a regional holiday in Tamil Nadu. For consumer brands selling locally, the creative should be in Tamil and the budget should bend around Pongal.

THE FULL PAID MEDIA PRACTICE →
  1. 01

One agreed number before any spend

Cost per qualified enquiry, cost per booked consultation, pipeline from demos or return on spend after returns. Chosen with you, measured from your CRM or store, reported every week.

  2. 02

Campaigns for the countries you sell to

Separate campaigns, budgets and creative for each market, from Dhaka and Muscat for a hospital to the US and Europe for a SaaS company, so one country’s cheap clicks don’t hide another’s results.

  3. 03

Tracking that follows the long sale

Pixel, Conversions API and offline conversions from your CRM, so Google, Meta and LinkedIn learn which clicks became patients, demos or orders weeks later.

  4. 04

    Healthcare compliance before launch

Ad copy and landing pages checked against Google’s healthcare policy and Indian advertising law, so hospital campaigns don’t stall at review or overclaim.

  5. 05

    Creative in English and Tamil

Tamil creative for local consumer campaigns, written by people who speak it, and English or the buyer’s language for international ones. Tested weekly, never machine-translated.

WHAT CHENNAI FOUNDERS ask me.

REAL QUESTIONS, ANSWERED PROPERLY

How much does a performance marketing agency cost in Chennai?

Think of it as three numbers: the agency’s fee, your ad spend and 18% GST on that spend. Most founders only budget for the first two.

People search “digital marketing cost in chennai” and “low cost digital marketing in chennai”, and the answers they find vary wildly, because the label covers everything from posting on Instagram to running international hospital campaigns. Indian agencies publish retainers across a very wide range, so treat any number you see as a band, not a benchmark.

What moves the cost in Chennai is scope. A local clinic on Google Search needs far less than a hospital running campaigns in five countries, or a SaaS company paying US click prices on Google and LinkedIn. Ask what sits inside the fee. Is tracking fixed? Is creative included, and in which languages? Who decides where budget moves each week?

On GST, Google India invoices 18% on ad spend. Add your GSTIN to the account and you can usually claim it as input tax credit. Forget it, and your budget is short from day one.

For transparency, we scope every engagement after an audit and agree the retainer in writing. Ad spend goes on your own card, never through us, so there’s no hidden markup.

My rule: never compare agency fees without comparing what they’ll be measured on.

How should a Chennai hospital advertise to international patients?

Run separate campaigns for each country you serve, in the language patients there use, and judge them on booked consultations, not form fills. One national campaign with a medical tourism keyword list won’t do it.

The demand is concentrated. One Chennai hospital reports Bangladesh, Iraq and the Maldives as almost 80% of its international volume. Families in those countries search differently, use different platforms and expect replies at different hours. A single campaign mixes all of that together and the budget drifts to whichever country clicks cheapest.

Here’s how I’d set it up. A campaign per country, each with its own budget and creative. Landing pages per treatment that explain the procedure, the doctors, the recovery time and how to send records. Click-to-WhatsApp or call ads where a conversation converts better than a form, because a worried family wants to talk to someone. And a coordinator who replies within minutes, with every chat tagged by outcome.

Then send booked consultations back to Google and Meta as conversions, so the platforms learn which enquiries turn into patients.

The failure I see is a hospital paying for thousands of cheap enquiries from countries it can’t actually serve, because nobody split the campaigns.

My rule: budget by country, measure by booked patient, and reply faster than the hospital next door.

What can a hospital or doctor in Chennai say in Google and Meta ads?

You can promote your services, your doctors, your facilities and real evidence. You can’t promote prescription drugs, and you should stay well away from cure claims.

People search “digital marketing agency for doctors in chennai” and “google ads for healthcare” because health ads get rejected more than almost any category. There are two layers. Google’s policy says advertisers targeting India may not promote prescription drugs in ads or on landing pages. And India’s Drugs and Magic Remedies Act, from 1954, restricts advertising remedies for a scheduled list of conditions that includes cancer, diabetes and heart disease. Doctors also have their own professional conduct rules, which your medical team should check.

In practice, keep ad copy factual. Name the treatment, the speciality, the doctor’s qualifications, the facility and how to book. Avoid words like guaranteed, permanent cure or best in India. Make sure the landing page says who you are, carries your registration details and matches what the ad claims.

When an ad is rejected, read the specific reason in the policy manager and fix that issue rather than resubmitting the same ad. Repeated violations put the whole account at risk.

I’m not your lawyer, so have anything borderline checked by one.

My rule: write health ads you’d be comfortable reading aloud to a regulator and a patient’s family.

Should we run our ads in Tamil or English?

For consumer brands selling inside Tamil Nadu, test Tamil creative from day one. For B2B, SaaS and international campaigns, English or the buyer’s own language is the job.

The reason is simple. The IAMAI and Kantar internet report found that 57% of urban internet users in India prefer content in regional languages, and it names Tamil among the most popular. People search “google ads in tamil” and “meta ads tamil” because local advertisers are asking the same question.

Here’s how I’d test it. Run the same offer in Tamil and in English, with the same audience and budget, and judge each on cost per qualified lead or sale, not on click-through rate. Write the Tamil version from scratch with a native speaker, rather than translating the English line by line. Many people mix Tamil and English when they type, so test a Tanglish headline too. Make sure the landing page matches the ad’s language, or the click is wasted.

Plan around the calendar as well. Pongal falls on Friday 15 January 2027, a regional holiday in Tamil Nadu, and local consumer campaigns should have festive creative and budget ready before it.

The failure I see is a brand running English ads to a Tamil-speaking audience, then deciding the platform doesn’t work.

My rule: let your buyers’ results choose the language, not the brand team’s habit.

How should a Chennai SaaS company spend on ads to win customers abroad?

Bid where your buyers are, measure in pipeline, and expect to pay US and European prices. A Chennai address doesn’t make the clicks cheaper.

Chennai’s SaaS cluster mostly sells to North America and Europe, so you’re in the same Google and LinkedIn auctions as companies in San Francisco and London. That makes waste expensive. The usual leak is optimising for demo requests or free sign-ups, then finding most of them never become paying customers.

Here’s how I’d set it up. Google Search on high-intent terms, such as your category plus pricing, alternatives and comparison searches. LinkedIn for reaching job titles and company sizes you can’t target on Google, accepting that its clicks cost more. Retargeting for people who read your pricing or docs. Then connect your CRM, mark which demos became qualified opportunities and customers, and send those outcomes back to the platforms as offline conversions.

Run each region as its own campaign, with its own budget and time zone. A demo booked at 3am Chennai time still needs a fast reply.

The failure I see is a team judging LinkedIn on cost per lead after two weeks, before a single deal has had time to close.

My rule: judge SaaS ads on pipeline and revenue, with a window as long as your sales cycle.

Do Google and LinkedIn ads work for manufacturers and B2B suppliers?

Yes, when they’re built for a few high-value enquiries rather than lots of cheap ones. Most manufacturing ad accounts fail because they’re run like consumer campaigns.

Tamil Nadu makes about 35% of India’s auto components, and people search “b2b lead generation companies in chennai” and “lead generation for manufacturing company”. The buyers are procurement heads and engineers. They search exact terms, compare specs, and take weeks or months to place an order. A form fill on day one tells you almost nothing.

Here’s what works. Google Search on specific terms, such as the process, the material, the part type and the certification, with broad generic terms kept tightly controlled. LinkedIn for reaching purchasing and engineering roles at the companies you want to supply. Landing pages that show capabilities, specs and certifications, and a way to send drawings or an RFQ. Then log every enquiry in your CRM and send qualified ones and orders back to the platforms as offline conversions.

Be patient with volume. Ten right enquiries a month from OEMs can be worth more than a year of consumer leads.

The failure I see is a supplier judging the campaign on cost per click, then switching it off before the first purchase order arrives.

My rule: measure B2B ads on qualified enquiries and orders, over a window as long as your buying cycle.

Why are our lead ads in Chennai bringing fake or junk leads?

Because cheap, frictionless forms attract bots, accidental taps and people who were never going to buy, and the platform optimises for whatever you tell it counts as a lead. If a form fill is success, it finds more form fills, real or not.

People search “real estate lead generation companies in chennai” and “lead generation services in chennai”, and the complaint behind those searches is usually the same: a great cost per lead and a sales team that can’t reach anyone. It shows up in real estate, education, clinics and services alike.

Here’s how I fix it. Add friction where it filters: a higher-intent form type, one or two qualifying questions and phone verification. Connect the form to your CRM and mark which leads became real conversations, visits or sales. Send those outcomes back to Meta and Google through the Conversions API and offline conversions, so the system learns what a good lead looks like. Watch for patterns such as bursts of submissions at odd hours or repeated numbers.

When a channel stays polluted, move the conversation somewhere harder to fake, such as a click-to-WhatsApp ad or a call.

My rule: judge every campaign on cost per qualified lead. If you only count form fills, you’re paying for the junk.

Should I hire a PPC agency in Chennai, or can one work with us remotely?

Either can work. What matters is whether you can see the accounts, the decisions and the people doing the work every week.

I’ll be clear about us. We’re based in Gurgaon and we don’t have a Chennai office. We work with Chennai brands by appointment, mostly on video. Paid media is one of the easiest jobs to run remotely, because everything happens inside Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn and your CRM, and we can open all of it together on a shared screen.

Where you should push any agency, local or remote, is on ownership and visibility. Are the ad accounts in your name, with you as admin? Is spend on your card? Will someone explain each week what changed and why? Can you speak to the person managing your account, not just the person who sold it? For Tamil creative, who writes it?

A local agency gives you easier face-to-face meetings. It doesn’t automatically give you better tracking, better creative or honest reporting. Plenty of agencies, near or far, hand the work to someone you never meet.

If you request an appointment with us, you’ll meet the people who would run your account, and we’ll look at your current ad account before we quote.

My rule: choose the team whose weekly decisions you can see, wherever it sits.
