THE CITY THAT BUILDS the answer engines.

Bengaluru is an unusual market for an SEO agency. Many of the founders I speak to there could explain how a language model works better than most marketers can. They don’t need a lecture on ChatGPT. What they want to know is why their product, which they know is better, isn’t the one the AI recommends.

Here’s the honest answer. The engines don’t reward the best product. They reward the brand the web agrees on. If the comparison articles, review sites, Reddit threads and directories in your category mention three competitors and not you, the answer names those three. That’s as true for a SaaS tool in HSR Layout as for a D2C brand shipping out of Whitefield.

I’ve watched the other side of this with an ecommerce brand we work with. In 2024, AI assistants sent it zero sales. Today AI search is a seven-figure sales channel for it. No trick. Years of patient SEO, and then making sure the machines could read and trust what was there.

That’s the work I want to do for you. SEO done properly, your share of AI answers measured honestly, and every account in your name from day one. No guarantees. A written plan for the first 90 days, and one number every month that tells us both whether it’s working.

We’re based in Gurgaon and work with Bengaluru brands by appointment, mostly on video. Request an appointment and I’ll show you your own AI answers on a shared screen.

BENGALURU SEARCH, as I see it.

BENGALURU, INDIA

Bengaluru buys like a tech city and searches under two names. Here’s what shapes the plan.

01

Two spellings, one city

Type “seo agency bengaluru” and Google suggests “seo agency bangalore” instead. For most service searches the older spelling still carries the demand. Your pages, profile and listings have to work for both, naturally, without stuffing either.

02

Your buyers build AI for a living

Bengaluru attracts 58% of India’s AI startup funding, and Startup Genome ranks it second in Asia for AI-native startups. Buyers here try new tools early, and ChatGPT already takes about 77% of AI chatbot use in India. The shortlist often starts in a chat window.

03

Startups and SaaS search differently

Google suggests “saas seo agency in bangalore”, “b2b seo agency bangalore” and “seo agency for startups in bangalore”. These buyers compare tools on review sites, communities and “alternatives” posts long before a demo. Those are the pages AI quotes.

04

107 languages, with Kannada at the centre

The 2011 census counted 107 languages spoken in Bengaluru, and about 45% of people gave Kannada as their mother tongue. Google’s AI Mode has worked in Kannada since October 2025. If your buyers ask in Kannada, your brand facts need to be findable there too.

WHAT WE DO FOR Bengaluru brands.

THE FULL AI SEARCH PRACTICE →
  1. 01

A baseline of your AI answers

We ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI the 100 questions your buyers ask, including the “best tool for” and “alternatives to” questions, three times each. You see how often you’re named against real competitors. That’s your Share of Decision, and it’s the number we move.

  2. 02

Both spellings, and Kannada where it counts

Titles, pages, schema and your Business Profile written so Google and the AI engines connect Bangalore and Bengaluru to the same brand. Kannada pages when your buyers search that way, written by a native speaker.

  3. 03

    Comparison pages that earn trust

For SaaS and D2C, “X vs Y” and “best X for Y” questions decide the AI answer. We build honest comparison pages on your site and work to get you included in other people’s.

  4. 04

    Technical SEO for fast-shipping teams

JavaScript rendering, docs and help centres, pricing pages, large catalogues and robots rules. The things that break quietly when a product team ships every week.

  5. 05

Mentions on the sources AI trusts

We map the sites, communities and publications the engines cite for your category, then earn your place on them through our Digital PR practice.

  6. 06

A monthly report you can check

The same questions rerun every month beside Search Console and GA4. You see what moved, what didn’t, and what we’re doing about it.

WORK THAT backs this up.

All work

Two brands we work with. The ecommerce brand is my clearest example of AI search turning into sales. TalentGum, a kids’ learning brand, ran paid media, SEO and PR as one system, and its domain authority tripled.

WHAT BENGALURU FOUNDERS ask me.

REAL QUESTIONS, ANSWERED PROPERLY

Which is the best SEO company in Bangalore?

The one that can show you, before you sign, where you stand on Google and in the AI answers, and what it will do about it in the first 90 days. A list of agencies won’t tell you that.

Search for the best SEO company in Bangalore and you’ll find directories, listicles written by agencies that appear in them, and plenty of “No.1” claims. None of it tells you whether an agency understands your buyer. A Bengaluru SaaS company selling to teams in the US needs very different work from a D2C skincare brand selling across India.

So test them on your own business. Ask what your buyers type into Google and ask ChatGPT, in both spellings of the city if you sell locally. Ask which competitors the AI names today, and why. Ask who will do the work each week, and whether you’ll own Search Console, GA4 and your Business Profile from day one. Ask for a result in a business like yours, with a timeframe and a baseline.

Good answers are specific and a little cautious. Weak answers lean on guarantees, keyword counts and backlink packages. Google’s own guidance says no one can guarantee a number one ranking.

My rule: hire the agency that explains your market back to you better than you expected, not the one with the loudest claim.

Should my website say Bangalore or Bengaluru?

Both, used naturally. The city’s official name is Bengaluru, but most people still type Bangalore when they look for a service, so a page that only uses one spelling leaves demand on the table.

You can see the split in Google’s own suggestions. Type “seo agency bengaluru” and Google offers “seo agency bangalore” instead. Type the Bangalore version and you get a full list of suggestions back. The same thing happens for performance marketing, PPC and digital agency searches. The official name is gaining ground, but buyers haven’t switched yet.

You don’t need two pages for one city. What you need is one strong page that leads with the name your buyers type, mentions the other spelling where it reads naturally, and keeps your Business Profile, schema and directory listings consistent. The AI engines read all of those to work out who you are and where you operate, and mismatched details make them less sure of you.

The failure I see is stuffing. A footer with both spellings repeated ten times helps nobody, reads as spam to people, and gives the engines nothing useful.

My rule: check autocomplete for your own service in both spellings, lead with the one people type, and mention the other honestly. Then check again every few months, because the balance will shift.

What does a SaaS SEO agency in Bangalore actually do?

It builds search around how software is bought, which is mostly by comparison, not by city. A Bengaluru SaaS company rarely wins by ranking for “software in Bangalore”. It wins on problem searches, alternatives searches and comparison questions, many of them asked by buyers in other countries.

The work usually looks like this. Pages for the jobs your product does, written for the person with the problem, not for a keyword tool. Honest comparison and alternatives pages, because “X vs Y” and “best tool for Z” are exactly the questions people ask ChatGPT and Perplexity before they book a demo. Technical care for product-led sites: JavaScript that search engines can render, docs and help centres they can crawl, pricing and integration pages that state facts in plain text. And mentions on the review sites, communities and roundups the engines cite for your category.

The failure I see with startups is publishing two generic blog posts a week that will never bring a buyer, because a content calendar felt like progress. Another is hiding pricing and features behind forms the engines can’t read, then wondering why the AI describes a competitor instead.

My rule: judge SaaS SEO on demo requests and sign-ups from search and AI answers, never on traffic alone.

When should a startup in Bangalore start investing in SEO?

Once you know who buys and why, usually after you have some paying customers, and before you depend entirely on paid ads. Starting SEO before product-market fit often means writing for a buyer you’ll pivot away from.

The worry behind the question is runway. SEO takes months to pay back, while ads switch on today. Startup Genome puts the median seed round in Bengaluru at around $810K, so a long SEO retainer can look like a luxury next to a growth hire.

Here’s how I’d sequence it. Before revenue, do the basics yourself: a crawlable site, clear product pages, your facts stated plainly, and a founder who writes about the problem the product solves. Once sales are repeatable, invest in the pages buyers and AI engines use to compare options, and in getting mentioned where your category is discussed. By the time paid acquisition costs start to climb, search and AI answers should be carrying part of the load.

The opposite mistake is just as costly. Waiting until a much later round, then trying to catch up on years of content and mentions that competitors have already built.

My rule: start SEO when you can describe your buyer in one sentence, and start measuring your AI answers even earlier, because it costs almost nothing to know where you stand.

What’s the difference between an AI SEO, GEO and AEO agency in Bangalore?

Mostly the label. GEO, AEO and AI SEO all describe the same goal: getting your brand named in the answers ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI give. The difference that matters is whether an agency can measure those answers and move them.

Bengaluru is early to this. Google already suggests “best geo agency in bangalore” and “aeo agency bangalore” as you type, so buyers here know the terms. That also makes it easy for any agency to add the acronym to an old SEO package and change nothing else.

Real AI search work adds three things to good SEO. Measuring how often you’re named across many buyer questions and many runs, because the answers change each time. Finding the sources the engines rely on for your category, from comparison articles to forum threads to review sites. And getting you onto those sources while keeping your facts identical everywhere.

None of it replaces SEO. The engines read the same web Google does, so a slow, badly structured site hurts you in both places. That’s why we treat it as one practice. The machine doesn’t care which acronym you hired.

My rule: ask any agency to show you today’s AI answers for five of your buyer questions before it quotes. No measurement, no AI search.

How do I get my company to show up on ChatGPT?

Give the engines consistent, trusted evidence that you’re a good answer, and make your own pages easy to quote. There’s no listing form and no paid shortcut into the organic answer.

For Bengaluru startups the gap is usually third-party proof. Your site may be excellent, but ChatGPT leans heavily on what others say about you: review sites, comparison posts, news coverage, community threads and directories. A younger brand has had less time to collect those mentions, so an older, slower competitor gets named instead.

Here’s how I’d start. Ask ChatGPT ten questions your buyers ask, the way they’d ask them, and note who gets named and which sites get cited. Check that your robots.txt isn’t blocking AI crawlers, which happens more often than founders expect on fast-moving engineering teams. Put your key facts, like pricing model, integrations, locations and who you serve, in plain text on your own pages, not inside images or scripts. Make your name and description match across your site, LinkedIn, directories and app stores. Then earn mentions on the sources the engine cited.

Technical fixes show up within weeks. Earned mentions take months, and they move the number most.

My rule: write down who ChatGPT names today, before you change anything, so you can prove later what worked.

Do I need Kannada content for SEO in Bengaluru?

Only if your buyers search or ask in Kannada, and in some categories they do. For a B2B SaaS product sold in English, it rarely matters. For a local service, a consumer brand or anything sold across Karnataka, it can be a real gap.

Bengaluru is unusually multilingual. The 2011 census counted 107 languages in the city, with about 45% of people giving Kannada as their mother tongue, and many others speaking Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Hindi or Malayalam at home. Since October 2025, Google’s AI Mode has worked in Kannada too, alongside Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, so a buyer can ask a detailed question in their own language and get an AI answer back. People already search for things like “seo in kannada”, so the habit is there.

If you go ahead, do it properly. Write Kannada pages from the questions Kannada-speaking customers actually ask, with a native writer, rather than machine-translating English pages. Keep your brand name, address and category consistent across languages so the engines know it’s the same business. Start with your highest-value pages and measure before expanding.

The failure I see is translating the whole site in one go and never checking whether anyone searches that way.

My rule: test demand first, then build Kannada pages for the customers who use them.

How much does SEO cost per month in Bangalore?

Published Indian retainers run from about ₹8K a month to ₹300K and above. One agency’s guide puts funded startups and mid-market brands at around ₹80K to ₹150K a month. Treat those as bands, because what sits inside the fee matters more than the number.

The cheap end is usually activity: a few links, a monthly PDF, some blog posts. Even the agency that publishes these bands says packages under ₹15K a month are activity-based rather than outcome-based. For a Bengaluru startup competing with well-funded rivals for the same comparison searches, that kind of package rarely moves anything.

When you compare quotes, ask what problem each line solves. Which technical issues get fixed, and when? Which pages get rewritten, and why those? How will they earn mentions on the sites AI engines cite? How will they show you your AI answers every month?

For transparency: we don’t sell packages. Every engagement starts with a $1,500 audit, credited to your first month if you continue, and we scope the retainer in writing from what it finds. It covers SEO and AI search as one piece. We’re not the cheapest option, and if your budget is small, a good freelancer will serve you better than an agency pretending to be busy.

My rule: never sign a retainer whose deliverables you can’t list.
