PERFORMANCE MARKETING & PPC AGENCY FOR PUNE BRANDS

PUNE DOESN’T BUY ON A CLICK. It buys on a conversation.

An RFQ from a plant in Chakan, a demo request from Hinjewadi, a parent calling about admissions. I’m Akshit. My team runs Google, Meta, LinkedIn and WhatsApp ads for Pune brands, judged on qualified leads and real revenue from your own CRM.

CHEAP LEADS ARE the expensive mistake.

Most Pune businesses I speak to don’t sell to impulse buyers. A component maker in Pimpri-Chinchwad waits weeks for a purchase order. An IT services firm in Hinjewadi works through a buying committee. An institute has one admissions window a year and a parent who asks a lot of questions first.

Yet the ads they’ve run were built for impulse. Lead forms tuned for the lowest cost per lead, reported as success, while the sales team chases numbers that never pick up. I’ve seen this pattern for more than a decade. The dashboard says it’s working. The order book says it isn’t.

So I start somewhere else. We agree one number before any spend, usually cost per qualified lead or cost per admission, measured from your CRM. We fix tracking so Google, Meta and LinkedIn learn which leads became customers. And for buyers who want to talk, we often swap forms for calls or WhatsApp conversations, because a conversation qualifies itself.

One honest note. We’re based in Gurgaon, at WeWork Forum in DLF Cyber City. We work with Pune brands by appointment, mostly on video. Request an appointment and we’ll open your ad account together. I’ll tell you what I see, even if the answer is that you don’t need us yet.

THE PUNE AD MARKET, as I see it.

PUNE, INDIA

Pune’s advertisers sell to engineers, tech teams, students and parents. These are the realities I plan a budget around.

01

B2B demand is real, and so is the noise

Google suggests “b2b lead generation company in pune” and “indiamart vs google ads”, which tells me plenty of Pune firms are weighing marketplaces against their own campaigns. The same searches also return job and “for freshers” queries, so a Pune B2B account needs tight negatives from day one.

02

The industrial belt has long sales cycles

MIDC calls Pune India’s largest auto hub, with more than 4,000 manufacturing and ancillary units in Pimpri-Chinchwad alone. Suppliers to that belt can wait weeks between an enquiry and an order, so the platforms need offline conversions from your CRM, or they optimise for form fills.

03

Admissions run on a fixed calendar

In 2026, Maharashtra’s engineering CAP rounds ran from early August to early September, after the MHT CET exams in April and May. Institute budgets that wake up in August pay the most for the least. Plan the year around the exam and counselling dates.

04

Education ads have their own rules

ASCI’s guidelines bar education ads from implying a guaranteed job, rank or admission without proof, and from “100% placement” claims. Ads that state placement numbers must also give the size of the passing batch. Build that in before launch.

WHAT PUNE FOUNDERS ask me.

REAL QUESTIONS, ANSWERED PROPERLY

How do I choose a performance marketing agency in Pune?

Choose the one that agrees to be measured on your sales data and gives you full ownership of the accounts. Everything else is secondary.

Google suggests “best performance marketing agency in pune” as you type, and right beside it, “digital marketing agency in pune for freshers”. That second one tells you something. A lot of Pune results are written for job seekers and course buyers, not for businesses, so the search alone won’t sort good agencies from loud ones.

On the first call, ask four things. What single number will you be judged on, and where will it be measured? Will the ad accounts sit in my Business Manager, on my card? How will you feed real outcomes, like orders or admissions, back to the platforms? And who exactly will run my account each week?

Then ask about your buyer. A good agency should talk differently to a Chakan component supplier, a Hinjewadi software firm and a coaching institute. If the pitch is the same for all three, the campaigns will be too.

The failure mode is a guaranteed ROAS. Nobody controls the auction, your competitors or your conversion rate, so a guarantee usually means the agency picks whatever metric makes it true.

My rule: hire the agency that is clearest about how it will be measured, not the one with the biggest number.

Is Google Ads better than IndiaMART for a manufacturer?

They do different jobs, so most manufacturers I’d advise use both, and judge each by orders, not enquiries. Google suggests “indiamart vs google ads”, so plenty of Pune plant owners are weighing exactly this.

A B2B marketplace puts you in front of buyers who are already comparing suppliers there. The trade-off is that you sit next to your competitors, and a lot of enquiries are price checks. Google Search lets you catch a buyer searching for the exact part, process or application you make, and send them to your own page. The trade-off is that you pay for every click and need a site that can convert an engineer.

Here’s how I’d test it. Build search campaigns around your specific products and applications, not broad terms like “manufacturer in pune”. Add negatives for jobs, training and free downloads. Track every enquiry into your CRM and mark which ones became quotes and orders. Compare cost per order across both channels after three months.

The failure mode is judging on cost per enquiry. A marketplace may look cheaper per lead and still cost more per order, or the reverse.

If your products are commodity items sold on price, the marketplace may win. If you make engineered parts, search usually earns its place.

My rule: compare channels by cost per order, never cost per enquiry.

How do B2B companies in Pune generate qualified leads from ads?

By optimising for the lead your sales team would actually call back, not the cheapest form fill. Google suggests “b2b lead generation company in pune” and “b2b lead generation services in pune”, so demand for help is clear. The trouble is most of it gets sold on volume.

B2B buying in Pune usually involves more than one person. An engineer specifies, a purchase manager negotiates, a plant head signs. In tech, a buying committee does the same. Ads that chase the lowest cost per lead fill your CRM with students, job seekers and competitors.

Here’s what works. Search campaigns on specific problems and services, with tight negatives. LinkedIn targeting by job function, seniority and industry for committee sales. Lead forms with a qualifying question or two, or a call instead of a form. And the step most accounts skip: sending CRM stages back to the platforms as offline conversions, so they learn which leads became opportunities.

Expect fewer leads at first. That’s the point. A smaller number of real conversations is worth more than a big pile of numbers that never answer.

The failure mode is a monthly report that celebrates lead count with no word on pipeline.

My rule: if your sales team wouldn’t call the lead, the campaign shouldn’t count it.

How should colleges and coaching classes in Pune run admissions campaigns?

Plan around the admissions calendar, and judge campaigns on enrolments, not enquiries. Google suggests “admission lead generation services in pune”, and Pune has hundreds of institutes chasing the same students.

The calendar sets the cost. In 2026, Maharashtra’s MHT CET exams ran in April and May, and engineering CAP rounds ran from early August into September. Coaching classes for NEET, JEE and MPSC follow their own exam cycles. Start building awareness and remarketing audiences months ahead, so you aren’t buying every click at peak prices.

Then think about how parents decide. Most want to speak to someone. That’s why I often recommend call-only or WhatsApp campaigns over long forms. For LPU, call-only campaigns cut cost per lead by 70%, with students on the phone to counsellors instead of waiting in form queues.

Track every lead through to admission in your CRM, and feed that back to Google and Meta. Otherwise the platforms will learn to find people who fill forms, not people who enrol.

The failure mode is the August panic: no audiences built, no tracking, and a budget doubled in the last three weeks.

My rule: build the audience before the season, and measure the season by seats filled.

Can we advertise our placement record and rankings?

Yes, if you can prove them and you state them the way ASCI’s guidelines require. Placement claims are the heart of most Pune education ads, so get this right before launch.

ASCI’s guidelines for educational advertising are specific. You can’t imply that enrolling guarantees a job, rank, marks or admission unless you can substantiate it, and such ads must carry the disclaimer that past record is no guarantee of future prospects, in a font no smaller than the claim. “100% placement” and “100% job assistance” style claims aren’t allowed. Claims about placements, salaries, rankings or toppers must relate to the latest completed academic year. If you state how many students were placed, you also have to state how many passed out. And any ranking needs the publication’s full name and date.

The platforms are the other layer. Ads making exaggerated claims tend to get disapproved, and parents are sceptical of round numbers.

In practice, specific beats big. A line that names the batch, how many were placed and how many passed out is far more believable than a slogan, as long as the numbers are yours and current.

The failure mode is reusing last year’s hoarding copy in every ad, with an old ranking and no batch size.

My rule: if you couldn’t show the evidence to ASCI tomorrow, don’t put the number in the ad.

Should we run ads in Marathi for Pune?

Test it, if your buyers are local families or consumers. Skip it for most B2B and tech audiences. The answer depends on who you sell to.

Google suggests searches like “meta ads in marathi” and “marathi ads”, so plenty of Pune advertisers are asking. Google also added Marathi to AI Mode in October 2025, which tells you Marathi search is a serious channel now.

For coaching classes, schools, clinics, real estate and consumer brands selling to Pune households, Marathi creative can feel closer and stand out in a feed full of English. For a component supplier selling to purchase managers across India, or an IT firm selling to global clients, English will usually carry it.

If you test, do it properly. Write the Marathi ad natively, with someone who speaks it, rather than translating the English one. Run both versions side by side, to the same audience, with the same offer, and compare cost per qualified lead or per admission, not click-through rate. Make sure the landing page or the person who answers the call can continue in Marathi, or the gain disappears at the next step.

The failure mode is a machine-translated ad that reads oddly and quietly lowers trust.

My rule: match the ad’s language to the language of the conversation that follows.

How much does performance marketing cost in Pune?

Think of it as three numbers: the agency’s fee, your ad spend, and 18% GST on that spend. Most founders budget for the first two and get surprised by the third.

Published Indian guides put agency retainers anywhere from about ₹20K to ₹200K or more a month, or 10 to 20% of ad spend. Those are agency claims, so treat them as bands. On GST, Google India invoices 18%, and if you add your GSTIN to the account you can usually claim it as input tax credit.

The real worry behind this question is paying a lot and seeing nothing measurable. For Pune’s B2B firms and institutes, that usually happens because the fee and the result aren’t tied to the same number. A component maker should be measuring cost per quote or order. An institute should be measuring cost per admission.

For transparency, here’s how we work. Every engagement starts with an audit, the retainer is agreed in writing after it, and your ad spend goes on your own card, never through us, so there’s no hidden markup. We’re not the cheapest option, and we’re worth it when your spend is large enough for better decisions to pay for the fee several times over.

The failure mode is comparing fees without comparing what each agency will be measured on.

My rule: price the result you need, then judge the fee against it.

Why are so many of our Meta leads junk?

Usually because the campaign is optimising for form fills, and the cheapest form fills come from people who will never buy. Meta’s system is very good at finding whatever you ask it to find.

I see this across Pune categories. Real estate projects get numbers that never pick up. Coaching classes get students who tapped a form by mistake. B2B firms get job seekers asking about openings. Google even suggests “real estate lead generation pune”, and that category is one of the worst hit.

Here’s what fixes it. Switch instant forms to the higher-intent setting, which adds a review step before submitting. Add one or two qualifying questions, such as budget, course or company size. Verify phone numbers. Send CRM outcomes back through the Conversions API, so Meta learns which leads became site visits, admissions or orders. Where people want to talk, try click-to-WhatsApp ads, because a conversation filters itself.

Expect cost per lead to rise when you do this. Cost per customer should fall. That’s the trade worth making.

The failure mode is judging the account on cost per lead, which rewards exactly the junk you’re trying to remove.

My rule: optimise for the lead your team would call back, and let the platform learn from what happens next.
