A PR AGENCY IN GURGAON should be tracked on search, not clippings.

Your product works, your customers stay, and your team has outgrown its first coworking desk.

Why doesn’t ChatGPT mention you, then?

Ask it for the best options in your industry, and a competitor half your size might show up instead.

That’s often the week someone types “pr agency gurgaon” into Google.

The problem usually isn’t visibility in general. It’s that the sources Google and AI tools read don’t mention you, or mention you once in a PR story nobody can find.

In an Ahrefs study of 75,000 brands, web mentions tracked AI Overview visibility much more closely than backlinks.

In public relations terms, AI search believes what other publications say about you, not what your own website says.

That’s why AB Media Co begins your public relations plan with a map of the publications AI tools already cite for your industry in India. You see the target list before you sign.

Then your PR runs in two lanes. Earned PR stories go out when you have news, data or a founder view, and sponsored PR features always carry a sponsored label.

There are clear limits too. Events, celebrity, film or influencer management and crisis management aren’t part of what AB Media Co sells.

A paid placement is never described as earned public relations, in a pitch or in your report.

TalentGum, a kids’ learning brand, is the proof I’d show you. Its PR, AI SEO and paid media ran as one plan in India, and its domain authority tripled.

AB Media Co works from WeWork Forum in DLF Cyber City, Gurgaon. You can meet the team here, though most public relations reviews happen on video.

THE GURGAON MEDIA COVERAGE MARKET, for your public relations plan.

GURGAON, INDIA

Media coverage for brands in Gurgaon has its own quirks. These four facts should shape your digital PR, whoever you hire.

01

Two names, one city, and both matter

Many newsrooms now write Gurugram, while people still search for “gurgaon pr agency” and “pr agency in gurugram”. Your PR press releases and company facts should carry both names, so AI tools connect each mention to one business.

02

Your shortlist starts in ChatGPT

StatCounter puts ChatGPT at about 77% of AI chatbot use in India. When your customers ask it for vendors, it answers from the PR coverage it can find, so your public relations tracking should start there.

03

Earned public relations carries the weight

Muck Rack’s study of more than 25 million links found earned media behind 84% of AI citations, and paid or advertorial content behind just 0.3%. Sponsored PR still helps with reach, but AI tools mostly cite earned PR stories.

04

Public relations pricing in India runs wide

One PR founder writing in PRmoment put monthly fees at about ₹25K for a small D2C brand and ₹300K to ₹500K for bigger budgets. Those are agency claims, so use them as bands.

  1. 01

A citation map before any public relations pitch

You start with the publications, review websites and comparison pages Google and ChatGPT already cite when they recommend your competitors. Your PR targets get picked from that map.

  2. 02

Earned PR stories journalists can use

Data pieces, founder commentary and product news, pitched to the journalists in India who cover your industry. Earned PR coverage can’t be guaranteed.

  3. 03

    Sponsored features, labeled as sponsored

Paid features in titles such as Forbes India, Outlook, Business Standard, Hindustan Times or Digital Journal, agreed up front and reported apart from earned public relations.

  4. 04

Press releases search engines can read

Fully Managed Services clients get two to three syndicated press releases a month, each with your company facts in the same words and both city spellings.

  5. 05

Digital PR built for AI search answers

PR coverage is picked for the sources AI tools use, so your brand shows up when nobody types your name. Your mentions in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and AI Overviews get tracked monthly.

  6. 06

    Trade press and industry roundups

For B2B and SaaS brands in Gurgaon, the trade press in India and industry roundups often matter more to your PR than a national headline.

  7. 07

Public relations reporting tied to search

Each month you see branded search, referral traffic, brand mentions and AI citations. Advertising value equivalency isn’t used, because it tracks nothing a customer did.

CHOOSING A PR AGENCY IN GURGAON: your public relations questions.

REAL QUESTIONS, ANSWERED PROPERLY

Which is the best PR agency in Gurgaon?

The best PR agency in Gurgaon for you is the one that shows its PR target publications before you sign and tracks public relations results in search.

A top ten list of public relations firms can’t tell you that.

People search for “pr agency gurgaon”, “gurgaon pr agency”, “pr companies in gurgaon” and “top pr agency in gurgaon”, so most of them start with a list of PR firms. You can use that list, but don’t stop there.

That’s understandable. A lot of Gurgaon companies have paid for six months of public relations and got a folder of press release pickups nobody read.

How do you avoid this? Start with one question. You can ask each PR agency which publications in India it would target for your industry, and why.

Ask how it labels sponsored PR, who writes your PR pitches, and what the monthly public relations report includes.

If branded search and AI citations aren’t on it, you’ll only ever see activity. This applies to a PR firm in Gurgaon, a PR company in Gurgaon or a solo consultant.

Watch out for anyone who promises guaranteed coverage in a named title. Journalists in India choose their own PR stories.

My rule: choose the public relations partner that shows you its target list, not its trophy shelf.

What does a PR agency in Gurgaon actually do?

A PR agency gets journalists, editors and publications to talk about your brand, and a digital PR agency also makes those mentions count in Google and AI search.

People search for “what does a pr agency do” and “pr services in gurgaon”, because the label covers very different public relations work.

Some public relations firms in India run launch events. Some manage celebrities or crises, and some PR teams mostly send press releases.

Here’s what a month from a digital PR agency in Gurgaon or a public relations agency in Gurgaon should include for you.

Someone checks which sources AI tools cite for your industry and updates the target list. Someone finds a PR story, for example product data or a founder view, and pitches it to the right journalists.

Someone books any agreed sponsored PR features. Then someone tracks what got published and how it changed your branded search and AI answers.

You should be able to see each PR pitch, each placement and each label.

If a public relations agency can’t show you its month in that detail, you’re paying for hope. Would you accept that from any other supplier?

How much does a PR agency cost in Gurgaon?

Expect a monthly public relations fee based on how many publications and stories you need, plus any sponsored PR features on top.

People search for “how much does a pr agency cost” and “pr agency cost per month”, and published pricing in India runs wide.

In PRmoment, one Indian PR founder put D2C fees at roughly ₹25K a month, national brands at ₹60K to ₹80K, and larger budgets at ₹300K to ₹500K.

A Blue Buzz guide gives about ₹50K to ₹500K or more, and says most agencies expect a six-month minimum.

Treat these as bands from other agencies’ public relations claims, not a rate card.

Sponsored PR features cost extra, and each publication in India sets its own price.

With AB Media Co, a free mini audit comes first. After that, the full audit is ₹30,000, credited against your first month’s fee.

What matters most is what sits inside the fee, and this is where quotes in India differ. Ask which public relations results each quote will track.

How long does digital PR take to show results?

Your first public relations placements can appear within weeks, but changing what Google and AI tools say about you takes months.

Why? A single PR story gets read, shared and indexed, and then it fades.

Search engines build their picture of your brand from many sources over time. Ahrefs found brand mentions across the web tracked AI Overview visibility more closely than backlinks.

This means breadth and consistency help you more than one big logo.

Here’s how AB Media Co plans your public relations timeline. In the first month, you get the citation map, the PR targets and the first pitches.

By around the third month, your PR coverage should be appearing on sources AI tools already cite. By around the sixth month, branded search and AI citations should be moving.

That’s a working PR plan, not an industry benchmark.

The most common mistake is a strong first month and then silence. Public relations rewards steady news, not one burst.

If six months feels too long, you can start smaller rather than stop early.

Will media coverage make ChatGPT recommend our Gurgaon business?

Public relations is one of the strongest levers you have for AI answers, but no agency can promise you a ChatGPT recommendation.

People search for “digital pr for ai search”, which tells you how many teams are asking.

StatCounter puts ChatGPT at about 77% of AI chatbot use in India. That’s why your public relations tracking should start with ChatGPT, then Gemini, Perplexity and AI Overviews.

Here’s what the evidence says about citations. Muck Rack analyzed more than 25 million links cited by ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini and found earned media made up 84%. Paid and advertorial content made up 0.3%.

This changes how you should plan, and it also helps you spend less on paid space. Earned PR coverage on sources AI tools already use comes first.

Sponsored PR comes second, for reach and for customers who read them.

Your own website also matters. If a PR story sends someone to a page that doesn’t answer their question, the mention does less work.

I’d plan your public relations and AI SEO together, so each PR story has a page waiting for it.

Digital PR vs traditional PR: which does a Gurgaon brand need?

Most Gurgaon B2B, SaaS and D2C brands need digital PR first, and traditional public relations still makes sense if your customers read print or you need events.

People search for “digital pr vs traditional pr” and “digital pr vs seo”, so the labels confuse a lot of teams.

Traditional public relations in India tracks what got printed and how many people might have seen it.

Digital PR tracks what the PR coverage did online. Is it indexed? Does it carry your brand facts, for example your founder’s name and your city? Did branded search go up, and did AI tools start citing you?

The overlap with AI SEO is real. PR coverage on trusted websites builds the mentions and authority your own pages use to rank.

But digital PR isn’t link building. You aim for stories people read, and links come as a side effect.

Let’s say you run a Gurgaon SaaS company selling to HR teams. A PR data story in the HR trade press in India will likely help you more than a print feature in a general daily.

This is the test I use. Pick the kind of public relations that matches where your customers decide.

Should we hire a PR agency or build an in-house PR team in Gurgaon?

Hire an agency while your news is irregular and you need journalist contacts fast, then build in-house once stories come steadily.

People search for “pr agency vs in house” and “how to choose a pr agency”, and it’s a common decision for Gurgaon companies that just raised money.

A public relations manager on your payroll gets to know the business inside out. But one person can’t easily cover journalists, writing, sponsored buying and search tracking at once.

A good hire also takes months to find in India.

An agency brings a team and its contacts. You can end up paying senior prices for junior work, though, so ask who will write your PR pitches each week.

A PR freelancer is the third option. You get a direct line at a lower cost, but few freelancers track branded search or AI citations.

This is why AB Media Co often works beside an in-house person, running the digital public relations and reporting while they own the story.

Buy the public relations capacity your news needs, not the capacity your ambition wants. You can always add more later.

Can a Gurgaon startup get press coverage without paying for it?

Yes, if you have something worth reporting, because journalists cover funding, data, sharp founder views and launches that solve a visible problem.

They don’t cover the fact that your company exists, for example a press release saying you opened an office.

People search for “pr agency for startups”, and startups are where I see the most public relations money wasted.

The pattern is a seed-stage company paying for PR before it has news to share, then filling the gap with paid listings.

Here’s what can work for PR at a young Gurgaon company. Use anonymized data from your own product that says something about your industry in India.

Add a founder who’ll comment quickly and clearly on news in your space in India, so you can react when a story breaks. Then use press release distribution only to put your facts on record, not as your main public relations tactic.

Wire pickups on low-traffic websites rarely change what AI tools say about you.

If you don’t have three stories worth telling yet, wait. You can still help yourself in the meantime. Build your fact sheet and reviews first, and bring public relations in when you have news.

Is a sponsored article in Forbes or Outlook worth it for a Gurgaon brand?

In the right title, for the right customer, sponsored PR can work, as long as it’s labeled sponsored and you know it buys reach, not earned public relations.

People search for “sponsored article” and “guaranteed media coverage”, so a lot of Gurgaon teams are pricing them.

A sponsored PR feature is paid space. The publication sets the price and the label.

In India, ASCI’s code, updated in 2025, requires media companies to label paid posts on their social handles as sponsored or as an ad. The press norms also ask that ads be clearly distinguishable from news.

Google’s spam policies add one more rule. Paid links should be marked sponsored or nofollow.

This means a “guaranteed” spot is a sponsored one, and it should be sold and reported that way.

Use sponsored PR for a launch, a funding round or a hiring push. Then let earned public relations do the trust building.

No named publication is ever promised to you, and that’s the honest way to buy this.

Do you handle events, celebrity PR or crisis management in Gurgaon?

No, AB Media Co is a digital PR team, not a full-service public relations house.

There are no events or press conferences, no celebrity, film or influencer management, and no crisis management.

I say this clearly because a lot of people searching for a PR agency in Gurgaon want exactly those services, and they deserve a specialist.

Event public relations needs venue teams and on-ground staff. Celebrity and film work runs on talent relationships and entertainment media.

Crisis work needs round-the-clock legal and media handling. These are different businesses in India, and you can find good specialists for each.

What you get from AB Media Co is narrower. It’s earned PR stories and labeled sponsored PR features in publications across India, plus tracking of what that coverage did for your branded search and AI answers.

Let’s say your Gurgaon brand is hosting a product launch at a hotel. You’d hire an event team for the evening, and use digital public relations for the coverage people find later.

If you need both, run them as two separate PR briefs.

What are the biggest PR mistakes Gurgaon brands make?

The biggest one is tracking public relations in clippings, because a thick report of pickups looks like progress and tells you nothing about customers.

Here are the other mistakes I see most often in India. How many apply to you?

Paying for guaranteed media coverage. A guaranteed PR spot is paid space, and it should be labeled that way.

Treating press release distribution as public relations. Wire pickups on websites nobody reads won’t change what Google or ChatGPT think of you.

Using inconsistent company facts. One PR story says Gurgaon, another Gurugram, and a third gets your founding year wrong. AI tools then struggle to connect them.

Pitching PR without news. Journalists remember a weak PR pitch, and your next one gets harder to place.

Keeping PR and AI SEO in separate silos. The article runs, but nothing on your website answers what readers ask next.

Stopping after one launch. Public relations builds over months, not weeks, and this is where patience helps.

Fix your facts and your labels first, and each PR story after that works harder for you.
